SPONGE PAINTINGS

WHAT YOU NEED
Natural sea sponges (one for each guest)
Liquid tempera paint
Small paper plates
White or light blue construction paper
Water cups (one for each guest)
WHAT YOU DO

1. Put liquid tempera paint (provide shades of blue and green so kids can
create seascapes) on small paper plates, and distribute sponges and
construction paper to the guests.

2. Let the kids slightly dampen the sponges. You may need to do this part
for them: Just dip the sponges in water and then squeeze most of the water
out.

3. Show the kids how to lightly dab their sponges in the paint and then
press the sponge on their paper.

4. Let them sponge away! Hang their masterpieces to dry.
